It's a...

It's a boy!! Jake and I had no preference of sex, but it's still exciting to finally find out! Now I can focus on doing more like picking stuff out for the nursery and names, etc. It was very cool seeing the ultrasound, but hard to concentrate because I had to pee so bad! They told me to come with a full bladder so I made a point of drinking a ton of water. When I first got there I told them I had to pee very bad and the lady asked me if I could "partially" empty my bladder. I was like "could you?" I mean, how many of you can stop start peeing and then stop and feel okay? So after I went to the bathroom they gave me a few cups of water, but being that we waited in the exam room for over an hour before the ultrasound it had plenty of time to fill up and make me feel like I was going to pee on the exam table.
It was so cool seeing the baby move around. He was very active, but I can't feel him move yet, so I'm still looking forward to that.

I also forgot to write last week about my new niece Avayah Rose being born! We got to see her last weekend and I wish I could be around her more often. I can only hope our baby comes out as perfect as her!

Okay...I honestly have nothing much to write this week. Nothing much has changed. It's now only 3 weeks until we can possibly find out the sex. I think I'm waiting for that until I start doing anything for preparation, but the truth is, that I probably won't start doing anything for a while. It's kind of hard when you don't have any stores to go shopping at.

Maybe in my next post I'll include some pictures. People are asking to see my bump, but I still don't have an obvious "bump." It just looks like I've gained some weight. I hate looking at my stomach so I avoid it at all costs. I know I should enjoy not being huge because from what I hear that has negative aspects too, but I would rather be noticeably pregnant, than questionably gaining weight. I'm loving the weather since I can go out and walk, but my lower back has really been acting up. I'm having some sciatic problems. I have to be more careful when I teach dance and not overdo it. That's all for now. Hopefully I'll have more to add next week.

14 weeks!

So I had my 2nd appointment today. I hate how I got so excited and then nothing really happens at the appointment. We got to hear the hearbeat again which is nice to hear, but other than that I got to sit on the exam table for a half an hour and wait for the doctor to come in and talk with us for 10 minutes. On the plus side, he said at our next appointment we get an ultrasound and can possibly find out the sex! Yea! Jake and I have not done anything to prepare for having a baby and we don't plan on it until after we know the sex. So no, we don't have any names picked out, and I cannot think of a single boy's name that I like anyways. I hope the next 4 weeks go by fast!

Ok I created this blog a while ago and decided that I wouldn't post anything until after my first doctor's appointment. Jake and I went today and we got to hear the heartbeat which was great. Jake also got probably an unwanted education on what a pap smear entailed. I thought the doctor would have him move, but he was practically front and center! Oh well! So I have no other news except that we heard the heartbeat.

I am anxiously waiting to start feeling better and getting some of my energy back. Today at the doctor he described it as my body is "climbing a mountain everyday." That sounds so much better than "feeling like crap and laying on my couch as much as possible." That's all I have for now. I'm getting tired and should go to bed so I can climb another mountain tomorrow. :)
